Poshmark App Review & My Closet

Dear fashionista,

Allow me to introduce you to my favorite iPhone app of the moment - if you don't already know all about it, that is. It's called Poshmark and it's available on iTunes for your iPhone and iPad. It is an easy to use and navigate consignment store right on your phone!

It's absolutely free to create an account and you can list as many items as you'd like. No fees for pictures, there's no bidding, and you can set the prices at whatever amount you'd like. Poshmark will only take 20% of the final sale price and they will provide you with a $7 flat rate shipping label. The buyer actually pays for the $5 or $7 shipping cost.

What I really love about Poshmark is that it's truly a fashionista social network. They have a feed (quite like Facebook and Twitter) so you can see what's being listed as the day goes on. And these [mostly young in-the-know fashion crowd] users really know their stuff! I just love checking out the items that are posted everyday. You can find some incredible deals on luxury items as well as no-name brands. It's very possible that you can buy an entire outfit for less than $50 - jewelry, shoes and all!

Poshmark hosts two hour "parties" based on a specific theme or brand (like "Polished Prep" or  "Vuitton, Gucci & Louboutin"). Anyone who has items for sale that fit these categories are free to post. And if you're a shopper that is looking for items in these specific brands or categories, it's all there laid out for you. When you create an account, you can choose whatever user name you'd like. Everything you list is then added to your "closet". This is basically your public profile. Anyone who clicks on your user name will be taken to your closet where they can view all of the items you've listed.

I'm having so much fun looking at all the amazing goodies and selling some items of my own. If you're like me, you own WAY TOO MUCH! This is the perfect opportunity for you to unload some of those pieces in your closet that you haven't used in years or the items you regrettably purchased on an eBay on-line shopping stupor.

Sign up for a free account using the code HPXZL and automatically earn $5 in shopping credit. You can check out my closet by searching for my profile or clicking on this link: jessicayflores. If you don't want to create an account or don't own an Apple mobile product and would like to take a peek at some of the items I have in my closet, just take a look at my video above where I discuss Poshmark and show my top 3 favorite luxury items I've listed. Happy poshing!

Petition to Boycott Lionsgate Design Brooch Bouquets

A company that makes brooch bouquets really doesn't like the fact that I made a video that shows brides how to do-it-yourself for much cheaper than they sell them for. The petition below was created to let Lionsgate Designs know that attacking YouTube gurus for showing people how to make brooch bouquets is NOT GOOD BUSINESS! Please click here to add your name to the petition.

The Petition states:
Lionsgate Designs makes brooch bouquets geared towards brides for their weddings. Although the company makes beautiful bouquets, they have taken an ugly tactic in hopes of building their sales and deterring competition from brides themselves.

A few YouTube gurus have recently been attacked for posting How-To Do-it-Yourself Brooch Bouquet videos by Lionsgate Designs' YouTube channel. They have posted comments on these video including:

"Very unprofessional and no good information at all."

"DON'T DO IT!!! She says it is easy but she doesn't show you how to do the ribbon which is not easy and she slams spending $600 for a professional brooch bouquet which in the end is totally worth it..."

"This is a HORRIBLE way to make a brooch bouquet!!! Takes far too long and is extremely unprofessional in the end."

These videos were filmed, edited and posted in order to help and encourage brides who cannot afford these expensive arrangements to do it themselves. This petition is not a reflection of Lionsgate Designs' work or products, it's simply a response to their attacks to the individuals who are advocating for a less expensive DIY approach.

Tell Lionsgate Designs that THIS is not the way to do good business by boycotting her shop.

Very Pinteresting

I finally did it. I finally joined Pinterest. How I managed to be engaged since 2010 and get married without joining this site is something even my friends can't believe. I've heard all about the wonders of Pinterest but I always knew what I wanted for my wedding. I thought Pinterst would just confuse or distract me too much from my vision. Well, I'm married and that fear is no longer an issue. Now I'm free to enjoy Pinterest and all that it contains.

Click on the Pinterest image below to go to my profile.

Don't forget to follow and pin your favorite makeup tutorial, the DIY Brooch Bouquet tutorial, etc. See you there!
